The Preeceville Curling Club held its annual meeting to discuss various topics on October 5.
The executive will remain the same as last year, as members serve two-year terms, said Lynn Larsen, secretary. Tim Olson is the president; Shane Nelson, vice-president; Lynn Ager, secretary, and Sharon Bileski, treasurer.
"We have advertised for a caretaker/ice maker,” Larson said. Applications were accepted until October15. We will be looking at hiring someone after the deadline."
"Committees have been set up for the kitchen, ice committee, and the bar. We will hold a rink clean up day after the ice has been put in. We also want to paint the downstairs area if time permits.
“We will be selling ice sponsorships again this year,” she said. Any businesses interested in having their logo on the ice can contact Ralph Ager or Denise Olson.
“We will be having poker nights again this year as one of our main fundraisers. The dates are November 10 and 16, January 10 and 17 and April 8 and 17. We will also be selling raffle tickets again this season," she said.
The rink will be having a two-on-two season opener bonspiel on November 18 and19 with a wing night on November 18.
Other bonspiel dates set so far include a Christmas bonspiel (four-person) on December 27-30, and a seniors bonspiel scheduled for January 10-13. Other bonspiel dates will be posted when dates are set.
The tentative start date for regular curling season is the first week of November, she said. “We will be having regular four-person league, a two-on-two league, and an afternoon league.”
