The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 41 calls for service during the reporting period, some of which included: 10 provincial statutes, four traffic offences, three mischiefs, two thefts, two municipal by-laws, one drug possession, one dangerous driving, one traffic collision, one impaired driving offence, and one possession of stolen property.
On April 22 the Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to a noise complaint on Garvin Crescent in Canora. A resident on the street was playing music very loud and disturbing his neighbours. Police attended and the music was turned down to a respectful level.
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP are investigating damages and theft that occurred to a private shop on Whitesand Drive in Canora. The incident occurred between April 23 and 24. Cables had been cut off of a welder and a battery was stolen. Please contact the RCMP if you have any information about this crime.
On April 25 the Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to a complaint of a vehicle that was stuck in a field in the RM of Good Lake. The property owner was concerned that the vehicle was stolen. RCMP members attended and located the owner who had hit the ditch and was unable to get back to the road.
On April 25 the Canora/Sturgis RCMP received a complaint that two vehicle windshields were damaged in a towing compound lot located on Railway Avenue East in Canora. If you have any information about this crime, please contact the Canora RCMP.
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP received several complaints this week involving ATV infractions. The RCMP would like to remind everyone that every person operating or riding on an ATV must wear a helmet. Also the RCMP would like to remind the public that ATV’s are not permitted to be driven in town limits or on any Provincial Highway.
On April 29 the Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to an ATV collision south of Endeavour. One adult female was transported to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.
On April 29 Canora/Sturgis RCMP received a complaint that a residence in Canora was burning leaves within town limits. Canora Fire Department also attended this complaint and the owner was educated on the town by-laws and told not to burn leaves or grass in town limits.
