The Canora/ Sturgis RCMP would like to notify the community that Canora Provincial Court will be cancelled on April 2. All individuals who were to appear in court on that date will be contacted as their matter will be adjourned to a later date. If you are supposed to be in court that date and have not been contacted, please contact the Canora RCMP at (306) 563-4700.
It's important during these challenging times, that we acknowledge the great work that is being done in our communities, including the partnerships, shared work, and relationships between emergency responders and front line staff at medical facilities and community posts that are working hard to keep all of their citizens and communities safe.
The Federal Government was to be implementing the Federal Quarantine Act on March 25 at midnight. The RCMP would like to remind everyone to self-isolate themselves for 14 days after returning to the country. This also applies to anyone staying in the same residence as the person self isolating. The RCMP has received lots of complaints about people that are not self isolating when required to do so. I know the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be recommending severe charges and fines to be imposed on everyone that does not abide by this order.
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP would like thank everyone in the community who has been doing their part to help contain COVID-19. Everyone is doing more that they could possibly realize by staying home self isolating and social distancing. The best way to respond to this virus is to act like you already have the virus and that you don’t want to give it to anyone else.

At this time, no criminal record checks will be completed with the exception of employment checks.
Between the night of March 13 and the morning of March 14 a semi had gotten stuck in the snow at the corner of Highway No. 662 and Main Street in Stenen. When the driver returned the following morning, diesel fuel, tools, and other items had been stolen from inside the semi.
On March 19, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to a complaint of an elderly male who had hit the ditch and was stuck north of Preeceville. The elderly male advised that he had been stuck in the ditch all day and needed help. The male was very confused and was not entirely sure where he was from. Upon further investigation RCMP determined the male was reported missing several days from Manitoba. The elderly male was reunited with his family that evening, who were very appreciative to everyone who helped get him safely home.
