The Canora Golf and Country Club Senior Mixed Tournament was held on September 4 with a total of 60 golfers taking part. Even though the forecast was threatening, the rain held off just long enough to complete a variety of competitions.
The format for the tournament was a two-person scramble for the first nine holes and the back nine was alternate shot. There were three categories: men’s, ladies and mixed teams.
Barb and Kevin Coleridge of Good Spirit Acres took top honours in the mixed championship flight. Ivan and Gail Peterson of Sturgis were the winners of the first flight, while Ron and Adeline Steranko of Crystal Lake captured the second flight.
Bob Bradshaw and Bob Hogg of Good Spirit Lake teamed up to take the top spot in the men’s championship flight. Keith Antonichuk of Preeceville and Murray Bacht of Wadena finished first in the first flight.
Linda McFadyen of Burgis Beach and Marge Montain of Yorkton were the winners of the ladies division.
Long drive winners were Debbie O’Dell of Canora for the ladies and Darryl Binkley of Kamsack for the men.
Winners of the closest to the pin competition were Barb Coleridge of Good Spirit Acres for the ladies and Bob Lebo of Preeceville for the men.
