The Canora Composite School’s senior girls basketball team won its own eight-team tournament played January 27 and 28.
Canora defeated Esterhazy 49-32; Norquay, 49-43 and Birch Hills, 46-40, said Curtis Baillie, head coach.
Also attending the tournament were teams from St. Breux, Langenburg, Kamsack and Moosomin.
At Norquay on January 31 for an exhibition game, Canora won 57-32.
“The girls have been playing very good basketball,” Baillie said. “Everyone on the team is doing her best.
“The season has been a success for us, but there’s more work to do,” he said.
On Friday and Saturday, the team will be attending a tournament in Kelvington and then will be attending a tournament in Norquay on March 3 and 4, leading to the conference playdowns being held March 10 and 11.
