The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 84 calls during the week of November 19 to November 26, some of which included: three traffic accidents, 63 traffic offences, two municipal bylaws, one impaired driver, six other provincial statutes, two other criminal code incidents, one sexual assault, one harassment, one mischief, one fraud and three break-and-enters.
Erratic driving leads to arrests
In the early morning of November 26, while assisting Kamsack RCMP, Canora RCMP noticed a vehicle driving all over the road and in the ditch. Upon further investigation, the driver was impaired and the passengers had warrants out. All three were arrested, two were released to a sober adult and the third was remanded for court on the outstanding warrant.

On November 25, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP received a complaint from the Town of Canora regarding the new traffic bylaw. RCMP continue to investigate.
Puzzling Canora complaint
A complainant attended the Canora detachment in a panic on November 25 reporting a serious crime that just occurred at their residence. Police attended the alleged scene of the crime and determined that no crime was committed.
Fender bender
Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to a fender bender in the town of Canora on November 24. No persons involved were injured.
Preeceville traffic stop
On November 24, Yorkton Traffic Services, Preeceville Conservation, CN Police, Saskatchewan Highway Patrol, SGI Safety Officers and the Canora/Sturgis RCMP performed a check stop at the intersection of Highways No. 9 and 49 in Preeceville. Statistics are still being complied and will be reported once completed.
Wildlife reminder
Canora/Sturgis RCMP would like to remind drivers about watching for wildlife. The Canora/Sturgis RCMP has responded to several accidents of vehicle vs. wildlife.
Town of Canora break-in
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP are requesting the public's assistance in solving the following crimes. Between the evening of November 22 and the morning of November 23, the Town of Canora Shop was broken into. It is possible that the suspect was driving an older purple or maroon coloured SUV. Anyone with any details is asked to contact the Canora/Sturgis RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
Subway thefts
During the first two weeks of November, two storage units beside the Subway in Canora were broken into, and items stolen. There was also a storage shed behind the Subway that was broken into during the same time, with items also being stolen from there.
