Burgis Beach fire

Canora RCMP is requesting information regarding a suspected arson that occurred on May 14 at 1:30 a.m. The fire occurred at 825 Park Drive in Burgis Beach and a garage was burned down. If anyone has any information regarding the fire, contact the Canora RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

Sturgis suspected arson

On May 14 it was reported to Canora/Sturgis RCMP that a hunting shack was burnt down and about 10 to 15 acres of land were burnt. This occurred about 12 miles north of Sturgis and judging from the growth of the new grass, occurred about from the end of April to the beginning of May. Arson is suspected. Stenen fire 

In the early morning hours of May 19 the Canora / Sturgis RCMP along with Sturgis Fire Department attended a structure fire near a church near the Village of Stenen. During the suspected arson, two sheds and a garage belonging to the church were a total loss. Anyone who was in the area at the time or has any information about the fire is asked to please contact the Canora / Sturgis RCMP at 306-547-4700.

Police car windshield smashed

Between the evening of May 18 and the morning of May 20 a red brick was thrown at the front windshield of a police car located in the parking lot behind the Canora RCMP Station, causing the windshield to break. It appears as though the brick was thrown from the back alley. Anyone who knows of anyone who was walking around Canora either of those nights is asked to please ask them if they have any knowledge of the incident.                                                             Theft of fuel

On the morning of May 9 there was a theft of fuel that happened at the intersection of Hwy. 9 and Hwy. 5 in Canora. Approximately 100 gallons of fuel was syphoned from Mayrand Equipment Sales. RCMP are asking the public to contact Canora RCMP if anyone has heard or seen anything regarding this at 306-563-4700.

Theft of utility trailer

Canora RCMP is requesting any information regarding a 5 x 10 ft. silver utility trailer with a single axle that was stolen from the yard site off Hwy No. 9 near Sturgis, land location SE 16-34-4 W2. The theft occurred sometime between Easter Monday, April 22 and May 3. The trailer had a Saskatchewan license plate 276LIH. Anyone with any information is asked to please report to Canora/Sturgis RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

Stolen road signs

Sometime between May 19 and May 21 the sign of Tadmore was stolen from the Tadmore area. As well, the stop sign near the Town of Tadmore was damaged. RCMP are asking the public to provide any information if anyone has seen or heard anything regarding this. Please contact the Canora/Sturgis RCMP Detachment at 306-563-4700.

Theft of trailer

On May 18 there was a theft of a trailer reported to the Canora/Sturgis RCMP. The theft occurred sometime between the months of October 2018 to May 2019. The trailer was taken from a property in the Burgis Beach area. RCMP are asking the public for assistance and to notify RCMP if anyone has heard or seen anything regarding this trailer.

Break and Enter

On April 27 at approximately 8 p.m. in the RM of Preeceville a cabin had been broken into near Nelson Lake. The suspect pried open the front door and slept in the cabin. Nothing was reported to be stolen. The suspect is believed to have been driving a blue 1990 Chevrolet 1500 with Saskatchewan License Plate 898LID.
