Mushers’ committee gearing up for another season

The Preeceville and District Mushers’ Rendezvous committee has been meeting monthly for the last few months to organize and plan another Mushers’ Rendezvous.

            At the December meeting, it was recorded that the Saturday night supper will be headed by representatives of the churches and the Sunday supper will be organized by volunteers. The DJ for the dance was confirmed as Sound Addition.

            It was confirmed that the paper dogs have been made and ready for distribution in the schools after the Christmas break.

            The lighting of the memorial tree ceremony was on December 9.

            Laura Sliva will be announcing the talent show with Bob Blahay announcing during the races.

            The Preeceville Lioness members are scheduled to put on the pancake breakfast on Sunday morning.

            The 17th annual Preeceville and District Mushers' Rendezvous will be held on January 29, 30 and 31. Most events will be starting from the skating arena. Organizers were told to spread the word that “this is a world-class event featuring six and 10-dog sled races.
