The Preeceville High School graduate class from 1978 celebrated it's 40th year of graduation at Rawhides in Stenen on July 14.

Classmates reminisced, rekindled spirits, and shared laughter, reliving the tales of old, stated Sharon Thompson, classmate.

“We shared the “happenings” in the old Red Brick School, the “Assembly Room”, the “smoking lounge”, “Home Ec.” classes, and “Shop” in Sturgis, the broken windows, the “truck ride”, the “guys band” seances, and many more fond memories,” said Thompson.

“Our theme when we graduated was “We Are the Children of the Day”; We were, we are, and yet, we will be. We were all appearing youthful, not showing our age and shared stories of our past 40 years living life to the fullest. We have persevered, succeeded, and have survived. Although, we could not all be together, due to other family commitments, 11 of the 18, 1978 grads were in attendance at the reunion,” Thompson said.

Classmates concluded their reunion with attending the pancake breakfast at the Preeceville Sportsgrounds as part of the Preeceville Western Weekend.

Members of the 1978 graduation class who attended the reunion were: Morley Ignatiuk, Hornby Island, BC.; Bill Gerla, Humboldt; Tim Formo, Duane Formo and Ben Babchishin, all of Edmonton; Sam Swan and Karen (Heinrich) Maupin, both of Crystal Lake; Sharon (Tulik) Thompson, Yorkton; Kelly (Strykowski) Tavson, Duck Lake; Michelle Kut, Preeceville and Susan Long, Kipling.
