Ken Stearns wasted no time in double-checking his April 22 lottery ticket after he realized that the EXTRA numbers drawn were a direct match to his numbers. The Preeceville resident won $250,000.

“I checked the numbers online and then scanned my ticket with the ticket checker in the Lottery Manager app,” he said. “I couldn’t believe it!”

The happy winner plans to use some of his winnings to help him go back to school, said a release from SaskLotteries. He also plans to invest a large portion of the money.

“It’s very nice to not have to worry about financial security as much,” he said.

Stearns purchased his winning EXTRA ticket at Paul’s Drugs Ltd., located at 107 Main Street in Preeceville.
