Preeceville talent show hosts 13 performers

The Preeceville and District Mushers’ Rendezvous kicked off with a talent show at the Preeceville Legion Hall on January 29. The evening featured 13 talented artists and dancers.

The Preeceville and District Mushers’ Rendezvous kicked off with a talent show at the Preeceville Legion Hall on January 29. The evening featured 13 talented artists and dancers.

            Laura Sliva was the mistress of ceremonies and Jeannette Jaques, her grand-daughter, Shelby Cook and her mother Rhonda Cook sang O Canada prior to the beginning of the talent show. Throughout the evening Sliva provided information about the STARS Ambulance. All the funds from the weekend were allotted towards building a multipurpose landing pad for STARS.

            Audience members had the opportunity to vote for their favourite act and make donations in lieu of their votes. 

            Fiona, Franz, and Floyd Pinaroc kicked off the show with a special performance that showcased their talented children’s voices.

            The Studio Dance One, Tap One dancers performed a mambo number. Dancers were Trenley Nelson, Bryanna Hartl, Claire Masko, Dexter Penner and Peyton Lisoway.

            Sherry Joanette sang two solo numbers.

            Domingo and Filipina Pinaroc performed a moving ballroom dance.

            Jenhia Irlandez and Ellian Singkala sang a duet.

            Studio Dance One students danced a jazz number. Dancers were Emily Prestie, Morgan Mitchell, Rowan Prestie, Olivia Chornomitz, Kirsten Murray, Alexis Bodnar and Hannah Gerbrandt.

            Taylor Belesky performed a solo.

            Three Filipino women performed a candle dance. Dancers were: Nellie Knihniski, Gina Anaserias and Melinda Monteron.

            The Woodland Chorus, comprised of Willie Jakubowski, Ray Scarth and Jack Jaques, continued the tradition of performing for the past 17 years at the talent show.

            Jillian Newton performed a ballet solo.

            Domingo Pinaroc gave a solo performance.

            Laura Chartrand and Jeff Davis played a duet on the guitar.

            Studio Dance One Tap Five dancers performed to The Power. Dancers were Desrai Englot, Mia Mitchell, Kiera Balyski, Jillian Newton and Chloe Chornomitz.

            A unique bamboo dance was performed by Arwin Irlandez, Gina and Neil Anasarias and Decoroso Olfato.

            The top three favourite performances were: Woodland Chorus, Fiona, Franz, and Floyd Pinaroc and the Studio Dance One Mambo dancers.

            The evening concluded with the serving of desserts and beverages.
