Public speaking inspires club members

The Assiniboine Beef and Multi 4-H club hosted a public speaking competition that encouraged club members to gain confidence and the experience of speaking in front of a audience. The newly-formed club has 16 members aged from six to 11 years old.

            The newly-formed club has 16 members aged from six to 11 years old. The top two out of each group move on to district public speaking.

            In the junior members category (nine to11 years), which are the club’s oldest members, Emma Covlin placed first followed by Kate Covlin and Isaiah Maier.

            In the cloverbud age group, six to eight 8 years, Tess Covlin won first followed by Samuel Volpatti and Niamh Honig

            In the pre-clubbers category, which has the youngest members of the club, each came up on stage and shared a few words of knowledge about goats. Club members include: Levi Maier, Kendra Heisure, Hailey Heisure, Sawyer Townsend, Dawsen Vopatti, Maggie Ivanochnko, Liam Townsend, Olivia Ivanochko, Elizabeth Ivanochko, Trinity and Skylee Petras.

            Dani Volpatti, Fallyn Oxley and Billie Joe Townsend are the organizers and club leaders.

            "The day went great with a great response from the public," said Dani Volpatti. "The kids all did a super fantastic job and the experience the kids received was huge."
