The many Sturgis Kinsmen members are busy preparing for its 39th annual mini-miracle that will be hosted at the Sturgis Composite School on February 28.

"We are excited to announce that Derwood and The Renegades will be part of our talented lineup scheduled to perform," said Eugene Boychuk, one of the organizers.

The group is also scheduled to perform at Telemiracle in Saskatoon on March 2 and 3.

Christian Dales, known as Derwood, grew up on a dairy farm located just outside of Melville, stated a press release from Boychuk.

From an early age he was always interested in all types of music and started playing an acoustic guitar around the age of 12. He then graduated to an electric guitar when he was 14 and has spent the majority of the last 20 years playing it.

“I spent many years playing in bars in the area with our classic rock group The Night Shift. When that dismembered I started focusing on recording an album of hard rock original songs that I had been working on for a few years,” stated Deerwood.

"I finished the new album entitled Renegade in March of 2017 and have been working on promoting the new album playing solo and also with our new band Derwood and The Renegades. I enjoy playing live shows be it solo or with the band and look forward to recording another album in the future."
