Sturgis Students perform Christmas concert

The Sturgis Elementary students performed their Christmas concert in the Sturgis Composite School to a full gymnasium on December 13. Brad Cameron, principal, was the master of ceremonies for the evening.

“The staff and students have been working hard and are pleased to bring you a little bit of Christmas,” Cameron said.

Val Hallick was the pianist who accompanied the students in their musical performances.

The Grade 5 school band performed, All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth.

The kindergarten class under the direction of Lisa Serdachny performed the poems, Five Little Gingerbread andJingle Bells.

The Grade 1 and 2 class performed the Jingle Bells song.

The Grade 3 and 4 class performed a song, instrumental and choral reading to ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.

The Grade 1 class performed two songs, Bake Little Gingerbread and Gingerbread Rock.

The Grade 5 class performed a play titled The Santa Interviews.Santa interviews famous holiday characters for the job of Lead Cookie Supervisor. With his assistant and two favourite elves, Santa makes his way through one failed interview after another. Prancer wants the job because she’s tired of pulling the sleigh. Frosty the Snowman melts before he is even interviewed. A creepy elf who is running from the law applies, and even Scrooge wants the position.

Kindergarten, Grade 1 and 2 students performed a dance to Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

The kindergarten to Grade 5 students concluded the evening by singing, We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
