Town hosts special meeting to review major projects

The Town of Preeceville held a special meeting on October 21 to discuss the Waste Water Treatment Facility Project, the replacement of two furnaces at the Preeceville Community Legion Hall, the Lion's Family Trail and investing in Canada Infrastructu

The Town of Preeceville held a special meeting on October 21 to discuss the Waste Water Treatment Facility Project, the replacement of two furnaces at the Preeceville Community Legion Hall, the Lion's Family Trail and investing in Canada Infrastructure program.

Council acknowledged the report and budget provided by Colliers Project Leaders for the Waste Water Treatment Facility Project. The contract between the Town of Preeceville and Acadia Construction Management for the Waste Water Treatment Facility Project for a total of $7,805 was approved.

Accounts were approved and paid and acknowledged to Acadia Construction Management for $714,233 and $415,811; to MPE Engineering Ltd. for the Lagoon in the amount of $26,944, and to Colliers Project leaders for the lagoon, $3,560 and lift station, $1,053.

Council also approved the withdrawal of $1,092,218 for the Waste Water Treatment Facility Project from the operating loan with the Crossroads Credit Union.

A quote provided by K Danielson Plumbing and Heating to replace two furnaces at the Preeceville Community Legion Hall in the amount of $9,015 was approved with work to be done as soon as possible.

Proposal plans from the Lions Family Trail to extend and develop the cross country ski trail along the south side of Preeceville and to construct a warmup shelter in memory of Lou Roste that will be located at the north area of town of the trails was acknowledged.

The town council also approved support of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP).
