The Town of Sturgis is following the provincial guidelines with restrictions when dealing with COVID-19 virus, stated Aileen Lubiniecki, emergency measures officer.
"We update our emergency plans every year and have plans in place to deal with specific emergencies,” said Lubiniecki. “In cases of huge disasters the Saskatchewan Emergency Measures professionals take over. In this pandemic, we are following the established guidelines. I encourage residents and all individuals to follow the protective protocol of self-isolation, washing hands and most important check on your neighbour or the elderly with a quick phone call, text or wave," she said.
The Town-owned buildings are all closed to the public and some businesses are on restricted hours and management, with other businesses choosing to close.
