Welcome to the Jungle ice carnival impressed Preeceville audience

The Preeceville Figure Skating Club’s annual ice carnival welcomed audience members to the jungle on March 18. The theme was Welcome to the Jungle and skaters each performed themed skates.

            Laura Sliva was the mistress of ceremonies who introduced each performance. Tamsin Vallevand sang O Canada prior to the evening carnival.

            Corianne Metherell was the skate instructor for the club.

            Skaters who performed to the Funky Monkey and The Bare Necessities were: Destiny Goossen, Sydney DeRuiter, Trenley Nelson, Trinity Petras, McKenna Firman, Macey Mitchell, Maggie Ivanochko and Kacey Heskin.

            George of the Jungle and Lion King were performed by Carter Halkyard, Gavin Erickson, Owen Draper, Carter Moekerk and Boden Heskin.

            Baby Elephants Walk and Rubber Duckies were skated to by Skylee Petras, Briley Friday, Braxton Danielson, Hailey Spray and Madisyn Pole.

            Paje Reynolds and Camryn Nelson skated a duet to Cheetah Girls.

            Hannah Delawski of the Endeavour and Hudson Bay skating club performed a solo guest appearance.

            Danielle Burym of the Sturgis Figure Skating Club was a guest performer.

            Solo skates were performed by Angelina Sorgen, Jillian Tonn and Corianne Metherell.

            Nicki Nagy from the Yorkton skate club performed a special solo performance.

            Rockin’ Robin andPink Panther were performed by skaters: Saphira Anaka, Amber Spray, Olivia Ivanochko, Sarah Masko, Tanesha Dobson and Brooklyn Reber.

            Senior skaters who performed to a Tribal Dance were: Jillian Tonn, Paje Reynolds, Angelina Sorgen and Camryn Nelson.

            All the skaters performed a finale performance at the end of the evening.

            A dessert buffet was served at intermission.
