The Preeceville School encouraged students and parents to pick up books and read during World Read Aloud Day on February 16.

“The reading party featured a fun list of things to do and people were encouraged to sign up to receive the school's newsletter electronically," said Doug King principal.

"The school hosted an evening of fun when everyone was encouraged to pick up a book and read," said Leslea Hanson, teacher.

"This is the first year that we are holding such an event and we wanted to create a fun relaxing atmosphere where students and parents could feel comfortable to focus on reading,” she said. “It is very important to be able to read as it is applied in every school subject.”
