Preeceville IP hockey hosts one-day tournament

The Preeceville Pats IP hockey team kicked off the hockey action for the month of January with a one-day hockey tournament at the Preeceville Arena on January 5.

The Preeceville Pats IP hockey team kicked off the hockey action for the month of January with a one-day hockey tournament at the Preeceville Arena on January 5.

The three teams entered in the tournament were: Canora Cobras, Norquay North Stars and the home team, Preeceville Pats.

Each team played three games and Preeceville won all three of its games.

"All the teams had fun and that is what is important at this level of hockey," said Dean Serdachny, coach.

Other hockey action saw the Preeceville Pats novice team go down to defeat to Cote in a home game in Preeceville on December 17. Scorers for Preeceville were: Gavin Erickson (seven goals), Levi Coleman (two goals), Matthew Radchuk (two goals), North Johnson, Adrian Keshane and Keltyn Konkel. Assists by Gavin Erickson, Levi Coleman, Caleb Anaka and Nate Korpusik.

In the only other local hockey action, the Preeceville Pats bantam squad shut out Cote on December 19 at the Preeceville Skating Arena, thanks to the flawless goaltending of Brady Kashuba.

Scoring for Preeceville were, Trever Geistlinger (five goals), Kaiden Masley (four goals), Logan Wolkowski (three goals), Logan Lewchuk (two goals), Hudsyn Nelson (two goals), Spencer Leech (two goals), Austin Krawetz (two goals), Zachary Sorgen, Brynn Babiuk, Randi Foster, Chaz Jaeb, Camron Secundiak, Archer Franklin and Hayden Strelioff.
