The Preeceville Midget Pats played host to the Moosomin Rangers and saw the Pats dominate the game to a 5 to 0 final score on November 23.

"Being it was the first meeting of the two teams from last year’s Major Hockey League (MHL) final it surely brought a playoff- like atmosphere to the game and the big crowd in attendance," said Kirby Pankratz, head coach. “We were short a couple of players but with the heart and intensity the atmosphere changed from the disappointing loss previously in the week to Yorkton Remax, the Preeceville team came to play.”

On December 3 Preeceville got that chance to revenge that loss when Yorkton Remax Terriers were the visitors.

The game had a real back-and-forth pace throughout the first period with the hometown boys left trailing 1 to 0 after the first period.

“In the start of the second period we came out killing a penalty but on a long line change stretch we scored a short goal to tie it up,” said Pankratz.

“Penalties became a problem for both teams right to the game’s end, but we face this kind of adversity quite often and we got the guys to keep the ‘stripes’ out of their heads and to stay the course. In the end the only thing that would make up for it was getting the win as the Pats cruised to a 6 to 1 victory," concluded Pankratz.
