The hot weather made for perfect conditions for the summer solstice fun day held at Annie Laurie Lake on June 27.
The fun day featured numerous different summer activities with a giant slip-and-slide being the highlight of the afternoon.
Devices included: a ladder ball, a giant Jenga, inflatable bouncy castles, Frisbee golf, beach volleyball, a giant tic tac toe and giant inflatable Zorb balls in which people can play. There were also sand castle competitionsand face painting. Children could also fish for marbles in a very chilly kiddies’ pool
A new event was soccer pool which is a combination game that features soccer and pool.
The frozen get-into-your-T-shirt competition, which was a fun new event introduced this year. The first team to thaw a T-shirt and put it on received a prize.
The movies, Moana and Sing were shown throughout the day and evening.
Free hot dogs and juice were available during the event.
