The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 39 calls during the week of April 8 to April 15, some of which included: one traffic accident, eight provincial traffic offenses, one impaired operation, eight other provincial statutes, one harassment/threat, two mischiefs, one fraud, one disturbing the peace and eight other incidents.
On April 9, Canora/Sturgis RCMP attended a residence in Canora and assisted Canora EMS with an unruly patient.
Gravel pit theft
Canora/Sturgis RCMP received a report on April 9 of mischief and theft of equipment at a gravel pit operation located in the RM of Buchannan. Please contact the Canora RCMP or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers anonymously if you have any information about these crimes.
The Canora RCMP Detachment received numerous complaints of an abandoned vehicle on Highway No. 9 south of Canora on April 10. The vehicle was observed to be damaged and a road hazard to passing motorists. The vehicle was towed.
On April 10, Canora/Sturgis RCMP received a complaint of two suspicious people pushing a baby stroller down a grid road outside of Sturgis. Police made patrols but were unable to locate the subjects of complaint.
Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to a report on April 14 of a single vehicle rollover on Highway No. 9 south of Canora. The lone occupant of the vehicle suffered minor injuries. Poor road conditions were a contributing factor to the cause of the collision.
Canora RCMP received a 911 call of a male on a bike in distress dragging a trailer hitch on the Highway No. 650 grid in the Sliding Hills RM on April 15. Police attended and found the male to be in good spirits but he admitted to being lost. Police retuned the male to his residence.
